STAMP-mechanical pencils by Sister-of-Charity STAMP-mechanical pencils by Sister-of-Charity
I fell in love with deviantArt stamps today and decided I'd try my hand at one. My artist friends and my art teacher always bothered me about my deep affection for mechanical pencils, so I decided to spite them further with this stamp, even though they don't even have dA accounts.

**1/21/2010** Thanks everybody for making this my most faved deviation. I hope it continues to spread the mechanical pencil love for years to come.**

Heh, I remember them getting their feathers all ruffled if we used Mechanical pencils! XP Granted, there are different types of lead pencils, but mechanicals are much more convenient! CX

When I make signs for my apartment-mates (we have indoor hallways between apartments, and it's a lot more social than average complexes), I always use a 0.7 pencil.

I like 0.7 pencils since they're more common to find and aren't too big or small.

when I look for my favorite mechanical pencil my sister yells at me to just use a 'normal pencil'. Then I yell at her that my mechanical pencil is special. She will never understand ;n;

when u start drawing something I use regular pencil. When I darkened the outlines I use mechanical. I use mostly mechanical for writing because it's easier for me and my handwriting becomes much neater.

Mechanical pencild are a lot better than regular ones when it comes to storage. Regular pencils constantly break and smudge and make everything dusty and smelling like graphite. With mechanical pencils you can just push the core back into the core chamber thing and it wont break of or wear down or draw on anything you don't want it to.
I nomally use regular pencils because they're easier to come by and I have to get rid of them somehow, but I certainly perfer mechanical ones.
When I was little my grandmother made me only use traditional ones because I disasembled a mechanical one and she found out before I could put it back together. I did, but she still didn't let me use any afterwards and storing them in pencil pouches was a real pain. Years later, I asked her to buy me some efficient, clean mechanical pencils. She brought up the disasembly instance as an excuse not to get me any.

Totally agree with you. Mechanical pencils are more efficient with producing led, and able to make beautiful dark lines with artwork. Also, with writing, my handwriting is really small, and can't be able to read it with a normal pencil or a 0.7 mechanical.
I use my regular sucky wooden pencil with shading big spaces, bad part with a mechanical pencil is shading will take longer if you are a 0.5 led user like me. :la:

You should get a 0.7 mechanical too and use that one for shading and the 0.5 for everything else :)

Yeah that could work too. But I just get a regular pencil because its cheaper than 0.7.
I could afford it but I don't want to be wasting money. :iconmingplz:

Oh. With the pencils I buy, the 0.5 and 0.7 mm both cost just as much, and it's always good to have a few extra pencils because sometimes one will break, and people borrow your pencils to eat ( :hungry::pencil::chew::P ) or something because you never get them back sometimes!

But I can't afford new pencils either, and I have to make sure I get mine back when someone borrows one! I need the pencil and the leads!
